Mexico and India continue to deepen economic ties, with growing bilateral trade and foreign direct investment (FDI) flows. In 2024, Mexico’s top export to India was telephones and mobile communication devices, valued at US $242 million. These exports originated mainly from Mexico City (US $527M), Jalisco (US $212M), and Nuevo León (US $68.1M).

 

In contrast, Mexico’s top import from India was passenger vehicles, totaling US $1.321 billion, with shipments primarily arriving in Mexico City (US $2.507B), Estado de México (US $1.039B), and Nuevo León (US $950M).

In April 2025, Mexico exported US $150M in goods to India and imported US $748M, resulting in a monthly trade deficit of –US $599M. Top exports included mobile phones and wireless network devices, while automobiles remained the dominant import category.

This results in a net trade imbalance of –US $2.418B in favor of India.
